Zambrano and the Cubs are thought to be discussing a five-year deal worth about $80 million. The ace right-hander had previously stated that he did not want to negotiate past Monday's opener against the Reds."Our discussions have progressed to a point where we are extending the deadline for an indefinite period of time," Zambrano's agent, Barry Praver, said on Sunday.
It's good to know that our ace pitcher isn't some lunatic who sets threatening deadlines and refers to himself in the third person.
